What I Believe

I believe that history is always in the making; both mental images and the emotions that go along with it. Just like how a song can take you back in time to a particular place, every time you hear it.

So, what do your memories look like? Have you ever thought about that? I betcha they don't look like the retail portrait studio image; all stiff and posed.

What about when you look at those before mentioned images? It's not the studio that you have emotional memories about, but that little face smiling back at you and all the shenanigans they got in to at that age.

I believe that your portraits should look more like your memories and less like ritualistic torture your family endures every couple of years or so.
